    • Equipping our Small Groups

    Is there something that just energizes you?  Over the last couple of weeks, the Small Group Ministry has hosted a training program for anyone interested in learning more about how to host or lead a Small Group.  We had 13 people attend the first week, and 14 people attend the second week.  Along with Corinne DeRosa and Wayne McCloskey, I was invited to teach the training.  I have to say, this class reminded me of those young adult Sunday school classes and youth group lessons that I taught which God used to help me realize his call on my life.  They have been completely energizing to me.

    I get excited when I see light bulbs go on, and see people being empowered to do what God is calling them to do, including myself.  I am so blessed by the insights that the other trainers and the participants have shared during the training.  I get a sense that people feel more equipped, more confident to lead their groups.  To see people empowered and equipped excites me.  We have one more session this coming Tuesday, and I can’t wait to see what will happen next!

    To help believers get connected through worship, study of Scripture, fellowship, discipleship, evangelism, and ministry in order to foster spiritual growth in Christ and the Church. Small Groups are the perfect place to connect with God and with others.

    We have groups for everyone, including specialized groups for men, women, parents with teens, families, singles and couples, young adults...there's even a group for our winter residents. Small Groups meet on Sunday and throughout the week. You can join a Small Group today.

    The Bible says this about the early Christians: Every day they (Christians) continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people

    Why did the early church grow? Acts 2:46 tells us they met in small groups.

    Providing personal, relational, Christ-Centered growth through ministry in the church, community, world, and the whole of life.

    Equipping Vision

    Leaders are relieved of their burdens as they encounter God. They feel free to learn, share, and take action. They are astonished by their growth through lessons, reflection, and peer interaction. They can't wait to get out there and serve their ministries. With boldness they lead the charge over their ministries, their own personal growth, and the ministry growth of those they lead.

    The Equipping Process

    1. Calling - We help Christ's servants find their God-given shape and vision in ministry.
    2. Connecting - We connect Christ's servants to a meaningful place of service and make them a part of the team.
    3. Coaching - We walk alongside Christ's servants as they serve to maximize growth and fruit.
    4. Changing - We help people make changes in their life to ensure they are in alignment with Christ's call.
