I was reading in Acts today for my spiritual journal devotions. I started to pull apart this passage and get something new from it. I thought, “Why would God send away two of the most important leaders from the church in Antioch ? Barnabas was probably the most important leader and Saul was still pretty high up there.” Then, (I’m sure it was God thinking for me) I thought, “Maybe God sent away the two leaders so that others could step up and lead in more prominent ways than they were or even could when Barnabas and Saul were there.” And I think it also applies to New Hope . Maybe God is giving our church this transitional time without a Senior Pastor so that others can step up and take leadership positions. Then, when we do get a Senior Pastor, we will have concrete leaders already in place and we will be able to readily follow where he wants to take us.
I don’t know if this is something that has already been mentioned. I am not having struggles with disappointment or anxiety about not having a Senior Pastor, but I figured some one may be, and this may help some one. So I sent this idea to you, because you may come in contact with them before I do. Thank you for listening- God bless!
