This morning I fell for God, literally. You are probably thinking, “ Gary , you recently scraped your nose in Jim’s pool, took a spill with Michael Roley’s Quad, and now you fell for God? How clumsy can you be?” I was reading James 2:14-17 which talked about how faith without works is dead. I leaned back in my 4-year-old chair to ponder what God might say to me through this text, like I have done thousands of many times before. As I leaned back, the chair gave way, and I fell straight on my back.
After laughing silently, I realized how I trusted the chair to hold me up, and it was proved by my actions by means of leaning back without even thinking about it. Although the Chair was untrustworthy, God is faithful, and we can lean on him. Let’s put our Faith in Action. Let’s let our actions show that we trust God for everything.
