Church Plant, Nueva Esperanza, brings Hope to the community
On November 24th Nueva Esperanza asked New Hope Community Church, Longview Community Church, and Desert Heaven Community Church to team up with them and extend their hands out to the community by giving away almost 280 turkeys this Thanksgiving. The event was called “Operation Hope”, and it brought in about 380 people from the community to pack out New Hope’s sanctuary. Extra Chairs had to be brought out and put in the back.
The evening began with a service of praise and worship that ended with a presentation of the Gospel message. A good number of people responded to the Good News of Jesus and received Him as their Savior. After the service, people had an opportunity to stop by ministering tables to share prayers with leaders from New Hope and Nueva Esperanza. “When the people were going through the ministering table, we noticed they had great need, so a lot of our staff prayed for the sick, for financial issues, and for salvation”, said Nueva Esperanza Pastor Israel Camacho. From there, people picked up a turkey and some food to help prepare their families’ Thanksgiving meal. “It was an exciting moment to know that we can help out with a turkey and some food,” Pastor Israel said.
The follow-up to Operation Hope has been inspiring as well. On Thanksgiving Day, one lady called and asked for a turkey and; thank God, we had an extra one. A group went to visit her and took the turkey and some groceries. Pastor Israel recounted, “We asked if we could pray, and it turned out she was diagnosed with lupus. Her fingers were purple because there was no circulation to her fingers. We prayed for a miracle, and the power of the Holy Spirit touched her in her home and tears rolled down her cheeks.” That same day, they received a call from a lady named Daisy. She was very thankful and complemented our churches for the fine work they did. Glory to God!
We celebrate with Nueva Esperanza the work that God is doing. It also reminds us as a Church why we are in the Church Planting business.
