Christmas Angel Tree

This year, our Angel Tree provided:

* Food, clothing and gifts for a family of 3

* Food, clothing and gifts for a family of 4

* Christmas stocking for a single woman

* Baby clothes, toys, books and baby items for the TOPS party

* A new car seat for a young family

* Christmas stockings for 12 children from a local elementary school

* Gift certificates for food for 6 families from a local elementary school

* A New Hope family assisted a young family with a rent payment

* A New Hope family assisted a single mother with children

The TOPS (Teen Outreach Pregnancy Services) Party was held on Dec. 15 at New Hope. Ladies in the Women of Hope group served a dinner of ham, mashed potatoes, salad, fruit, rolls, punch and cupcakes to 50+ teens and their families.  Each teen mother also received a new outfit, new toy and books for her baby. One young couple traveled 2 hours by bus to attend this party.  The young lady said it was the best ham she had tasted in her life.  She felt welcome immediately when she walked into our Youth Room.  The Women of Hope who served this dinner experienced as much joy as the young ladies and gentlemen who attended the party.  We truly walked across the room and showed Christ’s love to these young people. Leftovers from this party fed two families in need of food. Food from the New Hope food pantry was given to a family in need A box of canned food items was donated to TOPS to be given out Individual hygiene items and gifts for the mothers were donated by two ladies from Women of Hope.

New Hope was a blessing to the clients and staff at TOPS as well as many families from our community. We never know how a simple gift or act of kindness is going to show Christ’s love
