What to Say?

“Ako si Honey,” I introduce myself around the neighborhood.  (Honey is my Filipino nickname, how sweet!)

Now what should I say?

Hmmm, common question these days as Chris and I study the Cebuano language.  Chris ambitiously got caught up at the office, and was able to do 2 hours of language daily.  I am also doing 2 hours a day with a tutor, and about 2 hours a day practicing around our neighborhood.

Why not join an island motorcylce tour and learn Cebuano at the same time?  Chris likes this kind of language learning!

I’m excited to see what God has planned as we build relationships through language learning.  Already a nanny asked me how to be born again, but I didn’t know all the words for that.  She offered to bring her Cebuano Bible next week so I could show her.  What a joy to know God can speak through me.

Praise God with us:

• For the privilege to serve at Faith Academy, the school makes such a difference for missionary kids here
• Wounds healed up from motorcycle accident, no infections…thanks for praying!
• Our old car is repaired from flood, and we are able to buy a newer car from missionaries needing to sell theirs
• Joe is more adjusted, both kids are settled into a healthy routine
• God transforms lives of tribal people (see story at bottom)
• Chris found a male language tutor this week, I started building relationships in the neighborhood

• What to say to a group of nannies at Sierra’s school, one shared she wants to know God
• Building relationships while practicing Cebuano language
• Chris overseeing projects at school, to be culturally sensitive when needing to confront
• God’s protection, to be street smart and not fearful of hold-ups (ask if you want to know more)
