From A Place to Stand Sermon Series on the Heidelberg Catechism
Text:  Acts 4:1-12
June 9, 2013

Have you ever turned the page in difficult times to discover New Chapters in your life?  We praise God, the author, knowing He has a plan to work all things together for good.  We love Him and know we are called.

Praise God for guiding the structure change at Faith Academy Mindanao and providing Mr. Kruger, as new Head of School, Mr. Bartels, as Academic Administrator, and Mr. Sawdon, as Business Administrator.  Pray for Chris, and this new leadership team, to work well together, facilitate renewal, and recruit new teachers.  Check out this video clip Chris made Faith from grandparents view.wmv.

New Chapters next school year; I will be teaching 6^th grade Language Arts next year.  Chris will be teaching 9^th grade Old Testament.

Sierra graduated from Kindergarten!  Praise God for her awesome teacher, who helped her learn to read and have a great first year at Faith Academy.

Praise God for the completion of my Visayan language study!  I did great on my final exams but the best part is how God can take what little I know, to show I care about Filipinos, as I share the gospel and God changes lives.  I wonder what chapter God will write next in this story…

Praise God for how He used me sharing my testimony in Visayan with a group of kids to start a Bible club.  Next week ends our 8^th week (Summer break for Filipino schools).  My language tutor helped me share lessons on Moses.  When discussing the Passover lamb, many asked Christ to be their Savior.  20 kids earned their first Bible by memorizing verses and now are earning school supplies.

Thank you to our faithful financial supporters; I had more than enough funds available to run this program.  Chris is amazed each month how God uses you to provide for us and encourage us that God still wants us here.  Thank you for praying for us.  Without all you do, it would be easy for us to give up.

God tells us in Isaiah 41:9-10 “I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you.  I said, ‘You are my servant; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.  So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Prayer and Praises to our Mighty God:
Pray for safe Summer travels June 3, going to Heather’s Dad’s cabin in Tahoe, CA.  Yeah! J
Praise God for finishing my Visayan studies and using it to share Christ with others!  PTL!
Praise God for providing a new leadership team for Faith Academy Mindanao.
Pray for Chris to keep depending on God, who enables us to be more than conquerors.

Kids will enjoy heart racin’ activities like games, crafts, music, skits, Bible stories, and mighty tasty snacks! All of this Wild West fun is designed to lead kids to Jesus and God’s ultimate plan for salvation. 

So saddle up your horses and take your cowgirls and cowboys on a life-saving adventure at SonWest Roundup VBX!

VBX is June 10-14 from 5:30-8:30PM, and is for kids ages 4 to entering 7th grade.  Everyone is welcome!  Early Bird Discount available: $25 ea first sibling/$20 ea additional sibling (June 15-17, 2012 ONLY) Early Registration Discount available:  $30 each for first 2 siblings/$20 each additional sibling (May 19th deadline).  After May 19th:  $35 first sibling/$30 second sibling/$20 each additional sibling.  Fee includes:  t-shirt, crafts, dinner each evening, and all materials.  Registrations after May 26th are not guaranteed a shirt in their class color.  Registrations after June 1st are not guaranteed a shirt.

New Hope hosted a Hawaiian night for the families. This fun evening featured a luau complete with hula skirts and coconut bras! The families raved about the food and fun! Lots and lots of fun was had by everyone…it is always special to see the kids smiling and having a good time. Thank you New Hope for making a difference in these children’s lives!
